In town today and my 05 auto (32k miles) kept losing drive on accelerating after slowing right down in traffic. Revved up to 3,000 a couple of times (as no drive) then it came in. Noticed it before a couple of weeks back, when at one time drive came in with a 'thunk'. Lost drive several times today, once after a change-down on a slow bend. Smooth this time on take-up. Changed from Drive to Neutral and back and it was okay after that.
Any thoughts, please? Low oil, problem with the shifter? It's under a Select warranty but my preferred dealer is 50 miles away. Serviced 4k ago. Thanks for any replies.Make the most of this life, you may not have a Landy or skis in the next one.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago and popped into Guava (Guildford) unannounced. They knew straight away what the problem was and fixed it immediately for half an hours labour while I drank their coffee.
Superb service as always, and I can't believe how much better the gear selector feels to use. It must of been getting steadily worse over quite a while without me even noticing.2005 D3 HSE 2011 D4 Landmark 2016 D4 HSE Lux
