Hi Colin
The implication in your post is that you are going to do a transmission oil change yourself. If this is so may I suggest you research the various threads here on this topic.
My thoughts are that a single or double oil change are inferior to a proper "dialysis" type flush.
Whereabouts in Hampshire are you ?

hi nigel,i will be picking up the gs on friday morning and will be off to cornwall for two weeks, which will give it a good shakedown.I will get round to having it done by the professionals.I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb in the future and will investigate all the services and whats been done to it.
She drives very nicely and looks realy great in ipenema sand/gold.cheers for now.colin h. senior citizen still learning.

Hi guys.
What happens to the filter in a flush? I get the idea about the oil sitting I the main body during a sump change but you do get a new filter out of it. Is it a case of drain, change sump top up and then flush?

Hi
Yes so was I. The ZFHP8 has a sump which contains a filter. ZF do a kit for the change.

Thanks Mikey.
I see you're a LR pro. I envy your knowledge right now
I guess it wouldn't hurt to do both? I've watched a couple of video's showing sludge'd up magnets in the sump and my D4 has gone over 90K without any fluid change at all. (I think)
Am I right in thinking the final fluid level should be checked with the engine running and having gone through the gears a couple of times? i.e. fill until a small drizzle is coming out the filler inlet?
