Auto box flushing

As part of this years service I’m getting the auto gearbox flushed.
What are your thoughts on this. The car is 2007 and has covered 130,000 miles.Tis is also subject ti the MOT man being kind to me . ☺️

Be wary of doing it at that mileage. Maybe a fluid change and filter, but a full flush might bring on more problems than it's worth.
Just the other side of the coin...
Have a read of all the opinions out there first. It has been known for a flush to bring on the early demise of the gearbox. Respected transmission specialists have noted the same from customers that thought they were doing the right thing.
For the cost involved, the money would take the edge of getting yours rebuilt later.
A conventional fluid and filter change might be all that is needed.

Probably worth a read of this:

https://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/678/oil-flushing

It's probably worth changing, sampling and then sampling the new oil sometime after, then you will understand if you need a flush based on the evidence.

When to perform a flush from the experts:

https://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/609/oil-flush

But you will only know the condition to react to if you sample👍

Service done and mot passed. It was thought that the autobox was performing well with no issues so the flush was put on hold until next year.
