Edit: just been watching YouTube videos. From what I can gather, by buying the Discovery software, it’s not locked to your Discovery - but to all Discovery’s within that age of the software. So you should be able to sort your mates Disco, also? 8) Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

All Land Rover's. You get one make included with the AP200, thereafter you pay for additional makes.
So any Land Rovers are included regardless of model.

john watson wrote:Ran it for the first time this morning. Impressive piece of kit so far . Need to get the D3 off the stops! Two
codes stick out both labelled “historic”
C1a94-78. Front right hand speed sensor
C1b00-27. Steering angle sensor.
Question does it mean
1 that the speed sensor is duff?
2 does the steering angle sensor need recalibration
1 is straight forward have replaced it before but how do you recalibrate them steering angle sensor with the unit?
Any help much appreciated in these trying times when your on your own
John, if the codes are showing as historic and it’s the first time you’ve read the codes on your D3 then just clear the codes then run another check in a week or so. You’ll get codes raised whenever someone pulls the battery or works on the car so wouldn’t bother with them unless they are intermittent and wouldn’t worry unless they’re permanent unless you’re seeing issues with the car 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Used my Autel AP200 for the first time today.
Had to download additional app to my phone and all works great.
17 error codes on first scan, all except 1 were historic or intermittent. Cleared them all, re-ran scan and 1 error code - Driver's frontal stage 1-deployment control - which is the airbag warning light which matches with the waring light on the dash.

Good to hear Ianm27, I’d have that airbag looked at, 50/50 chance it doesn’t save you in a crash......or blows up in your face on the motorway 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Quality!
Had it plugged in the Freelander also! Had it a good while and didn't realise this ha ha
The Freelander is now fault free historic issues removed!
Brilliant thanks for the heads up!

I took delivery of mine today.
Cracked straight on with registering it. Super straight forward on an IPhone.
Plugged the diagnostic tool in, linked the Bluetooth and ignition on - cleared all the historic codes and now I have a clean dash! Not a light in sight.
Cannot fault this tool for the money - does exactly what an amateur like myself needs. Just the basics + a little more.
Garages charge £30-40+ Just to turn an airbag light
Off. So basically use this once and it’s free. PLUS... you can do your mates LR’s also... win win.
10/10 rating from me. Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

Read the codes. Looks like I need to re calibrate the the steering angle sensor. I assume the unit can do it but how do you go about it? Any help greatly appreciated. Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.

Hi John, steering wheel calibration is in the service menu as SAAS. It should talk you through step by step as it goes 2008 HSE Stornoway Grey

Played with the graph function in live data yesterday. Not sure if it is particularly useful, but a nice touch.

Really haven’t got to grips with it yet. Weather is getting in the way.
Cleared all to fault codes. After a few runs it came up with a load of “lost communication “ errors. The only errors codes “c” were for the SRS one permanent, one historic!
Now the situation in words
Engine running
Steering wheel angle 181 degrees
Full left hand lock 240 degrees no warning lights
Full right hand lock -525 degrees on come EHB and ABS lights.
Engine off then back on =reset.
Drive of straight ahead. No warning lights until moving at low speed . ABS goes crazy then warning light comes on permanently. No power. On comes EHB warning light , power restored, on comes suspension warning light and suspension lowered to the stops! No special programmes available.
Car drives fine at this point.
When interrogating the error codes SRS fault appears but nothing for the ABS.
I would have thought if the ABS was faulting in and out it would show up. If it’s just reacting as normal then there is no fault but what is causing it to behave as it does.
Also when it read the codes for the first time there was a code for an error rhs wheel sensor ( historic) but after being cleared it has never come back.
Luckily (or otherwise) lockdown means the car goes nowhere and the weather is not conducive to working on it.
Anyone got any ideas. Next move is to get some live data to see if there is a speed sensor issue but not on the roads the condition they are in. Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.
