I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

My first ever car back in 1988.

2800 HLS 6 cylinder (although only 4 worked)

S**** brown with a vinyl roof and brown velour trim.

Had to park it on a hill as most of the electric were shot.

Total and utter pile of crap.

My Dad had several Princesses and Ambassadors. I learnt to drive in one!

I was at a classic car show in the summer, in Cornwall and there was a guy there with a Y reg (83) Ambassador HL Automatic, one of only a handful left apparently. It was beige with orange velour interior. Sunroof too. It had about 30k miles on it, had been owned and garaged from new by a couple who eventually lost the ability to drive it, and their son put it on Ebay. The chap at the show got it for £600. It was immaculate, and had never been welded or sprayed.

It had a certain time warp factor about it. A classic car does not have to be any good, or expensive. Very Happy

Technically, they are Princess 2’s, so they weren’t Austin’s and hadn’t been since the demise of the original 18/22 Series. Argghhh!!! Shoot me now Laughing

Although they were crap, they were brave and were so much more advanced in engineering and stylistically brave than the archaic Cortinas that fleet managers bought by their 1,000’s Sad

I’ll take a 1975 Wolseley version Wink

My dad had the 2200 HLS in Bronze with a brown vinyl roof and hideous tan upholstery. He used to call it the barometer because when it wouldn't start it in the morning it usually meant that A it was raining or B it was about to. It spent more time from new in the garage than outside our house Laughing

Had one of those 2ltr high line,my wife was very smug in that ?. unfortunately within two days front half shaft sheared off on a Sunday afternoon and after that it was down hill all the way.
New head gasket as well but needed new head was required but cost too much as always breaking down rubbish car along with a Montego I had.
Misfortune to be young and niaeve lesson learnt hard way.
