Hi all from Argentina.
As always, I was in a hurry and just had not enough time to say goodbye to you all, as I took a plane to Buenos Aires on March the 6th. I was -and still am- taking part in two legs of the Discovery 3-RACE around the world adventure tour. From Buenos Aires to Calafate and from there to Ushusaia. From then on another lucky people will be able to drive these superb cars back from Ushuaia to North America, traversing countries such as Chile, Peru. Ecuador, Colombia Costa Rica, Central America, Mexico, USA, then to China, Tibet, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.
So far the cars haven't missed a beat. Electronics have been fault-free, starting always first time and not leaving us stranded.
The only problems we had to face were punctures. Road-biased tires and gravel roads in Argentina just don't mix. I wish we had the General AT2 tyres with us.
Oh, I forgot to tell you. It's the v8 SE petrol version. Mossy, you were right. The engine note, smoothness and power are sooo great.
Best regards from ArgentinaRegards, Robert

Just arrived in Ushuaia, with mixed emotions (sadness because it's over, and happiness as it's an unforgettable experience).
The new drivers will arrive today at night and then, after the dinner, we'll handle them the keys.
The discos performed faultlessly, no problems, no issues, boring reliability, only once we got stranded, and just because the only gas station around had run out of petrol. Fuel consumption was quite good, in fact, better than my Disco 2 v8 (and we were facing strong winds, heavily laden and with a roofrack)
This adventure is the experience to be lived, is the journey of my life. Great landscapes, great atmosphere, some punctures (only if the AT2 had been available before), and, above all, a team spirit difficult to imagine
I stroongly recommend this to anyone.
Nathan and all US-bound LR3 owners, i will notify you when the cars reach US-territory.
Just closing the baggage ready to come back home.
Will post some pics once my photos are developed (have some digital ones but not so good).Regards, Robert

For planning purposes, what time frame might that be?
We did almost 9.000 kms (around 5.400 miles), around half were tarmac ones, but the rest were the dreaded gravel tracks (ripio). It's astounding and amazing how the well set-up suspension swallows all bumps with ease, effortlessly, problem-free, and in great comfort (I had suffered ripio before, in a leaf-sprung bus, and was terrible). In the D3, the potholes and broken surface were hardly noticeable.
Nathan, the US-bound leg will begin the 7th of june in Mexico DF and will finish in Los Angeles on June, 17th. This calendar is provisional as it depends on timing, border crossing and the time the vehicles spend in the workshop. Hopefully they will make it on time (as it has been until now).
From my previous tests I knew the Disco3 was a good vehicle. What I did not know is it was so GREAT (well, no doubts after having driven the v8 version).Regards, Robert
