I had a good look around and play with a well specced HSE D5 on the weekend. Whilst it doesn't suit me and I'm not so comfy in it, I still liked it a lot and the Tech is incredible. As I've never been bothered to learn how to use the In-Control Apps and RSE on my Landmark D4, I doubt I'd ever be able to work it all though
There's some very clever design in the D5, but who the designed the armrests!! Absolutely useless, as they pivot from far to low down on the side of the seat, rendering them of no use at all for me and I suspect anyone unless perhaps they have a very short body.
The centre cubby box lid, was a good substitute though It just makes you wonder, when the D3/4 arm rests work well for all heights, how such a design could be signed off? 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Agree and so does my dealer and the multitude of people that also raised it with him.
Anyone notice how wobbly the cubby lid is too ? and the second one under neath is really cheap feeling, wobbly and they don't soft close it just flaps down. Tried 3 cars they were all the same. And whilst I'm on with fit and finnish, the demo we testeds door cards seemed poor quality moulding around the pockets they were almost sharp on the edges.
Anyway still might be getting one MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Yep they are useless. I've never had them before always had to make do with the centre cubby so no big deal.
As for the cubby lid, mine seems fine, so far I'm pretty impressed with the fit and finish over my D4 with the exception of the aluminium trim finisher which is in fact plastic and looks nothing like the brochure which I paid £125 for the pleasure. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

I'm very happy with my arm rest in fact I also like the arm rest on the door. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I find mine far too low and almost pointless, also seems slightly narrower and shorter than my D4. There are 10 types of people in this world ~ those that understand binary and those that don't.
