Arden "Leistungssteigerung" Chip |
|
I bought my (06 model) Disco 3 TDV6 from a German recently.
It was supplied new from a german LR dealer with an Arden chip apparently giving it approx. 223 BHP.
I only drove it for a week or so before handing it in to LR in kendal Cumbria for an upgrade to eliminate the infamoussuspension fault etc.
On collecting the car, I had a copy of what had been done, and this included an "engine management upgrade".
I of course asked if that would have altered the fact that the engine was chipped, and the only reply I could get was that I would have to se what it felt like.
Seeing as I didn't really know the car when I handed it in, I can't really tell if there is a difference.
Would anyone here know if LR by this has reset the chip tuning to standard performance ? I don't know much about chip tuning, but I'm sure some of you guys will know. I shall be looking forward to a qualified reply. All the best from Denmark. It does exactly what it says in the manual, mostly...

depends if the 'chip' in question is a re-map or an external clip on. If a re-map then yes its gone, if you cannot tell the difference then it sounds like it wasn't there in the first place.
If external then I would imagine its still overriding the LR software and this is why you cannot tell the difference.
You need to ask whomever you bought it from to be sure.

I agree, but all their tuning refers to this guide
http://www.hs-elektronik.com/info-e.html
which is all about ECU based tuning... so fingers crossed they do same as Turbochip and replace the upgrade for free. 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver

... thing I wondered is why the Great Dane didn't notice a difference. I know the latest LR map is far better and far perkier than before... but not 223BHP perky
But yeah, fingers crossed.
