Hi All.
Has anyone purchased a new ARB bullbar, or has checked them out. I am woundering that if the front flares are all one piece, do they cut the flares to make the bullbar fit or what.

Yes they do cut the front plastic flares to fit the bar. I've had mine on for a week now and am very happy with it. Check out the pics in my gallery. SE TDV6

Thanks Viper. Thats what I thought would happen, one other question, when they cut the flare, did they some how seal the flare. As these day the panels are medal, with mud, water, and what ever else, may rust if not sealed (flares have no exit/drain points).

They don't seal the flare at all where they cut it. They file the cut edge back to give it smooth finish, but that's it. Have a look at my pics in my gallery for a view of the new bar. Overall, very happy with it, particularly the colour coding in Buckingham Blue, looks great.
Damaged the steel winch cable on it's first outing (bummer). Have decided to cough up for a synthetic winch cable (Dynamica rope) which is both stonger, safer and much lighter, although about 40% more expensive. The IPF 900 Xtreme Sport spot lights are also terrific. I went for two spots instead of the normal spot/driving combo, as the bi xenon lights are already brilliant at middle distance lighting. Helps to spot Skippy a fair way out.
With the bar on, I've noticed no discernable difference in the way it drives. I anything, it feels a little more "tied down" at the front end. SE TDV6

Looks like some ARB dealers do "finish" the cut and some do not. I have just had the ARB Bar fitted in Adelaide, and the wheel arch trim was cut (as normal) and the cut was "sealed" with a stick-on strip to give a neat finished look. Unless you were in the know, you would think that this is how the wheel trim was supplied as OEM. I understand that this piece of stick-on was in the kit as supplied by ARB. BTW I decided to put on a real Bull Bar after meeting up with a Roo in SE South Aust (1130 hrs in morning, what are they doing out at this time of the day?!!) and experiencing $6K damamge, even with the Land Rover A frame plastic thingy up front. Maybe more damage without it though?
Cheers.
Geoff.

geoff,
any pics of the nice cut finish if you get a chance ?
i currently have the steel bar (non-winch compatible) and driving lights which were thrown in due to a sale error, but i'm thinking of putting the ARB bar on and keeping the LR lights .... 2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE

Hello Bashir,
Yes, I have some pictures, but I cannot find out how to create a Gallery here to let you see them. Maybe I can email them to you? Or, maybe someone can advise me how to create a Gallery?? Please?

Bashir,
If you have a look in my gallery, I have the ARB winch bar for comparison to the non winch. Cut flare finish only - no strip cover. also has front PDC installed

SMK,
Please confirm for me that the front PDC work well and haven't been a problem. Did ARB drill the BB to fit them? The BB doesn't have any holes or template for the PDC.
I was down at ARB today getting a quote for the BB, winch and spots and I asked about fitting the PDC. They haven't done one with PDC and and they rang up ARB HO and talked to their Development guys while I was there . They were told that ARB could not get them to work properly after fitting them in the bar.
I'm a bit confused as I don't want my new BB drilled to find out the PDC won't work or continuously goes off.
