| Has anyone some experience with 'The Gearbox Centre'? |

Hi there,
does anyone have any experience with a company called 'The Gearbox Centre' based in Faversham Kent and also Chesterfield Derbyshire.
I am looking at having a gearbox repaired with them for a disco 4 and I wondered what their reputation is?
The on line reviews seem good.

Can't say anything about them, but I'd highly recommend Bristol Transmissions in er.. Bristol... Si

I have no experience of "The Gearbox Centre" Kent, but I find reviews interesting.
Apart from the positive feedback, it is encouraging to see that the owner or management take time to read and reply to comments. Some "customers" seem to be unreasonable and economical with the facts. Chris

Iād echo the recommendation for Bristol Transmissions. My D3 had a recon gearbox and new torque converter from them fitted three years ago and still drives better than new.

BT are very good by reputation but it's a long way from Staffordshire to Bristol with a dodgy gearbox  probably why the OP is looking for a more local fix ! I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

So just to echo the others Bristol Transmissions are good, a friend travelled from Suffolk to Bristol to get the gearbox sorted on his Q7.
It is also worth noting they have a flat bed truck so can collect vehicles.

Suggest due your location you could try the http://www.theautomaticgearboxcompany.co.uk
they are in Hilton Derbyshire, they are good at fault finding on LR auto boxes they just overhauled a used auto box for my 2002 full fat, they are very knowledgeable and approachable, I spent quite some time asking questions before I committed to having them carry out the work on my L322
