I’m running one of these on our D4 fitted it in August, know of plenty of VAG stuff running the same product without issues.

tbh i was thinking of it but it is cheaper to get full prop swapped its only few bolts so an hours job

A GKN prop wasn’t cheaper than the bearing carrier when I looked in the summer.

Googled it. GKN prop is about £500 and LR one £369. All are expensive. The bush is still splits from above options. Only The carrier will solve it and hazard free.

good aftermarket for 213 on Advancedfactors which i believe aint that much worse than GKN Wink

The centre prop bearing is not difficult at all to change with the aid of a bench vice albeit a bit messy. The main benefit apart from the huge cost saving of a new prop is that you keep your original LR shaft. Some use poly sealants to fill the housing but in truth this is a bodge and not a proper repair. Thumbs Up

Yes, I’ve done it. Took 30 minutes to replace and has lasted 70k miles.

I have only had to change one shaft for the centre bearing and when removed the rear UJ was also shot, and many on this Forum have said the same . Is the rear UJ replaceable easily ?

I've rarely seen a failed UJ but salt does kill them. Not replaceable DIY but a prop centre might be able to.

Sounds like a good upgrade. My entire bearing split just at about 5 years old(and 30,000miles)! Replaced with GKN and I’m informed it’s started to go again, 3 years later. Seems like it’s pretty much a consumable, so anything that lasts longer will pay for itself.

I replaced my Propshaft twice in 100,000 miles (so three props in total) and was fed up with the lack of reliability. The concept of the upgrade appealed as it made it cheaper and easier to renew if required - though hasn’t yet failed in 70k miles
