Yep, using N95 in my D3, BM, and Honda. works great. Battery life could be better - make sure you get the ciggy charger

Works OK with my D3. Car charger or second battery are good things to have. Thumbs Up

Ditto the above. If you do forget your charger you can nearly double the battery life by switching it to GPRS only, turning off the 3G connectivity. If you get it from Vodafone Business it comes packaged with the proper Nokia in-car charger anyway. Don't know about other networks. Bluetooth connectivity is faultless and the camera is pretty good too, although very slow to start up and loads of shutter lag. Doesn't replace a proper camera, but good enough that you wouldn't panic if you forgot to take your normal camera with you.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

You do not need a GPS receiver, N95 has one built in. 8) Sensitivity could be better and takes ages to get a fix but works OK as backup. It is still possible to link external BT receiver if needed.

You can download maps for free from http://www.smart2go.com via PC so you do not have to use your mobile data connection for that.

It is possible to plan a route and follow it, but turn by turn navigation (ie spoken directions) is additional extra. Paid by credit card - I think you can have it for 1 week, 1 month or 1 year.

On a related subject, does anyone know of any N95 software that allows you to capture GPS waypoints? Would be perfect when out on the mountain bike (a laptop PC not fitting too easily in my camelbak)

My blackberry 8800 does the gps waypoint thing and the gps is incredibly sensitive, often getting a good fix indoors (if there is a window nearby.

(not much use if you have an N95 tho)

how about a handlebar mount garmin or similar???

Do you mean to capture current GPS position?

If yes, current position can be saved as Landmark on the phone, it can also be sent via SMS to another phone or MMS to e-mail address.

Ideally I want to be able to capture the waypoints automatically on a distance/time travelled basis, in a format that can then be exported to a spreadsheet and/or on to memory map.
