Have you tried to use the Nokia Updater afterwards to reprogram phone again?
Also, your code will be the same as stapldm's - as it is Vodafone. Send him PM. I'll try to find it for you tomorrow...
Don't give up yet... D3 XS Manual - gone

Steves21, sorry I've left the piece of paper at work with the original model code I'll post it tomorrow...in the meantime what happens when you re-run the updater; and what happened in the lead-up to the error?
I recall that the battery had to be fully charged, and the handset mode be set to General, and under no circumstances disconnect/interupt before it said so - I take it the error wasn't due to one of these ? Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Transgenic tomato anyone?

Great, thanks. Now I have something else I have to do as a result of this site
Damn it you lot, can't I have a week where you don't recommend something useful? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Not that it'll cheer up steves21, but for the first time in a week+ my phone worked flawlessly tonight.
I'd like to use it for a week before commiting to it being perfect tho.

just before I contemplated my opening gambit to vodafone-I re read the forum and did a hard reset ( green+*+3) and power on.Phone re-booted and powered up.Great! Then tried to copy contacts from memory card and it crashed again.Did this a few times, same result. However when I copied from SIM all seems well.
Have tried Bluetooth a few times and seems fine. Will do more in depth tests tomorrow when it's not quite so cold outside.
Will report back- thanks for all the input.

Well last night brought a nice surprise. But getting back on topic, I have been getting used to the N95 depleting approx 1/3 of it's battery capacity whilst just sat there overnight doing nothing. After the upgrade my phone was still showing 'full' this morning, and reported a "full battery" after just 5 minutes on the charger instead of the usual hour. Early days, but so far so fantastic.
steves21, The info you probably don't need now was the Vodafone product code of 0547869.
When you re-run the Nokia software updater, does it show that you're on firmware 12-0-013? I.e. did it actually upgrade it?
This morning, Bluetooth paired automatically, calls were made, calls were disconnected without locking up the stereo and bluetooth unpaired itself, all just as it should. Nice, thanks Bogblaster Dr. Ian Malcolm:

I'm on latest firmware. All sign of vodafone is gone- and I'm still having same problems. If I turn off BT when I leave car and turn on when I get back in it seems ok most of the time.I can even download the phone book and dial from it if I hold my mouth in the right direction!!!!
If I set phone to authorised the disco grabs it when I get close but it all locks up and I can't use it.I have to turn off BT and even sometimes re-pair it.It's a bit of a pain.
LR won't talk to me unless I use one of their supported phones ( which are all obselete, of course).
So, i'm back to where I was with my old BT headset.
Spent too many hours on this now- think I'll just enjoy the disco and not call anyone!
cheers anyway

Have managed to get up to v 15.0.015 but been told that there's a v20.0.015 available but not sure what product code to use to get this. I used the "Euro1" from the Nokia blog site.
Have to say, had lots of problems doing this rebranding but after ignoring the "remove phone" command and reinstalling the drivers it went through ok. Did take about 4 hours of messing around, installing and reinstalling the bloody software though.
Meant to say it's a N95 8G Welcome "Lola"

And what a wonderful update it was
Once I debranded and managed to get the update.
All I need now is a way to stop all my music appearing in the ring tones list real pain not to have an option to filter them out.
