Nick, Don't think anything is secure if you really want it off but as you have a lot more metal to cut to get near the cable I would say it will make the work harder to get it off. You can't get onto the cable with bolt cutter now but I am not going to try it

would this d4 winch work with a rld wheel protector or would you need a standards winch??

Hi,
I was pointed to this thread from the RRS forums. Just had some toe rag attempt to steal my spare, and so I am in need of one of these winch mechanisms. I assume this also fits a 2006 RRS?
