I have for some time been on about our CATE device. It is a special system that is not only an alarm but very much more including a tracking system. Through CATE you are able to track the location when you want and much more. However we have been working hard with the police and have at last been given the power to switch off the car when we want.
So basically if the car is stolen, tampered with or picked up, window broken or even leaned on you will be told. You can then track it from any internet based PC and inform the police of its location. No annual fee by the way.
When the police have finished their tea and bickies you can direct them to the car. If they cannot find it, you can activate the horn or lights and lock the thieves in. If they are moving you can turn the engine off when the police are in a position to arrest them. You can also listen in on the thieves or even speak with them.
Bottom line you have complete control of your car. If you want to stop it before any damage, you can as soon as you switch off the engine. There is much more but thats enough for now. This is a powerful unit.
Anyone intrested.

Was and still am very interested, issue as always will be the warranty implications though. Has there been any discussion with LR on their view? Though I bet I can guess the answer even if there hasn't been!
Also what about Insurance companies? I assume CATE is Thatcham approved so that should be a bit off insurance with some companies

It is more than just an alarm. The Thatcham bit has had to be downgraded to comply with Thatcham regs. Mad.
As for insurance discounts NFU love it and I can give you contacts to speak to. It is fitted to many vehicles now for many reasons. As far as LR go, like any others company. As you know they tried to imply my TrimTrak intefered and it was not even wired in, so with that theory, a torch in the pockets is contrary to the warranty.

A few of the alarm warnings and it desensitised.

It is impressive and there was an item apparently on the BBC news yesterday about in the morning with the police in Wales promoting it.
