Another suspension Issue

Today I put the car in access mode as I parked. When I looked out the window a while later the car was raised up. I went back out and found it was in extended mode. After lowering it again it all started to behave a little strangely. I got various messages saying 'suspension raising slowly' and 'suspension will raise when system cools' or similar. I didn't get any yellow or red lights on the dash.

At the moment the car cycles through its three height settings and the rear raises and lowers, the front is basically stationary somewhere between access and normal (at a guess). I've read most of the many threads on air suspension and its probably looking like the compressor is dying? My only thoughts are that the rear still goes up and down and the car thinks its going into all 3 modes correctly as the lights by the switch illuminate correctly, so could it be sensor related? Sometimes however when I try to put it into access it goes into extended as it thinks it has bottomed out.

Is there a way to manually reset the suspension?

Any thoughts on the above symptoms?

Thanks

After reading more posts I took the car out for a 15 minute drive, this seems to have helped a bit. I still get 'vehicle raising slowly' and changes between the settings seem to take about 40 seconds whereas before today its been 4 or 5. Also the front offside seems to be sitting a little lower than all the other corners. I should say all these height changes were done a low speed as trying to go to access when stationary has put it into extended and I didn't want to mess it around too much. I'm hoping taking it for a decent long drive might make the symptoms lessen even further.

FWIW I haven't had any amber or red warning lights come up so should I just relax until I do? That said something isn't right but being out of warranty I might just monitor it for now.

Thats what I think it will end up being, maybe I should take out a warranty now just in case! £400 ish for a new compressor vs £625 for LR select warranty? decisions decisions!

Hmmm; if it's changing heights without command, isn't it more likely to be an electrical issue (shorting, ground etc)? Find a garage with the proper diagnostic kit.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear in my post. All changes were at my request, just taking longer than usual and back moves almost immediately front takes ages and doesn't feel right!

If the rear raises 'normally' and the front is slow, sounds like one of the valve blocks

There are 3 on a D3, one for the rear, one central and one for the front, these can be prone to sticking, but will 'usually' throw up a yellow warning light, and other messages.

Can be caused by electrical problems as well, loose or poor connections, water ingress, even shorting or broken wires are all aflictions on LR wiring Confused

Youll need to get the car DTCs looked at Whistle

Just in case anyone finds this thread when searching a similar problem, thought I'd post the result. I disconnected the battery and left it overnight. Reconnected and started up, problem gone and everything sorted. Who knows? Gremlin in the system!!! Thanks for all the replies.
