Dealer fitted new disc/drums & new shoes, mechanic comments "shoes worn strangely & rear discs seen to also be worn & have high spots". This site certainly shows up some common problems with this vehicle, must be costing L.R. a fortune. Got the wheel alignment done & adjusted same time, camber & toe NSR.
My PB squeals on occasion when its released... probably just dirt in the brake.
Adding to the list - well its the only slight issue now in fact - for its 30K service which will come round soonish.

Could understand it if that had happened Simon although you could have a problem developing. I tackled the mechanic with my issue as did not fancy this re-occuring every 12,00 miles, he reckond there had been a change in the material used for the shoes, the problem being moisture but then you got away with 30,000 miles! beats me. Well... 5K to go in fact and apart from some initial problems I seem to be OK. But then we've had three Freelander's and not a single problem that has caused any of them to go back to the dealer to get them going again. Recalls yes and replacement of a poorly designed IRD (Intermediate Reduction Drive) that caused bad tyre wear.
Anyway... off now to the local woods to touch the trees liberally !

Yes !
Trading in my D3 for the rather spiffing Lexus hybrid in the new year. It does worse MPG but as it has a battery in the engine bay so I will be loved by the greens and those nice people in Camden.

I also joined the Alliance Against Urban 4x4's - they are actaully lovely people once you get to hear what they have to say. So logical and sensible in their approach to modern life.
As I live in the country I think its right to ban all 4x4's from cities. They are a menace you know and are driven by women delivering small children to schools to get their daily mental abuse. As the the cities public transport systems are so good, I think its criminal not to either walk or take a bus.
And by having a battery in my Lexus I can hold my head up high and be proud I'm helping save the planet.
If I do come across some mud I can just turn around and go another route.

Streuth he's gone potty. Think we need to go to sheep country and speak to him over a hot toddy.
Simon, what ever we have said, we withdraw, come back it is not worth changing to a mouthwash, sorry Lexus.

Oh dear - I think he's been 'got at' by the enemy.
I'm sure he is strong and robust though, and he won't crack under interrogation - unless they bring out the electrodes then he could be in trouble.

Oh if he stopped bleating about sheep and just thought about the fun and mud he has played in together with the total humiliation by TFC and Dom, he won't buy a silly car. Anyway, he will get a battery vehicle when he's my age, they are called mobility scooters.
