Another IID suspension calibration question…. |
|
My IID is showing just the one Fault and it’s that the suspension needs calibrating. This may or may not be because I was messing around with my new toy and did the suspension re-flash (or whatever it’s called – the one actually on the IID, not the one you have to apply to GAP for).
Anyway, I’ve read the GAP manual and read various threads on here and think I understand the concept of what needs to be done.
My question please is why I need to follow the formula route, rather than just the “Guided Calibration” route of measuring each wheel and raising the suspension one by one – this definitely looks easier. I.e. starting front left, I measure the centre-to-arch distance and increase the setting on the IID BT App until the distance is 466mm….
Am I missing something, or is there a reason as to why I need to do it the formula way?
Many thanks.

I used the guided way and it worked fine. I think the old way is there for backwards compatibility

Thanks, did you find you needed to re-update any of the settings after you had saved all four? I.e. did altering the height of say the back right change the front-left setting?
Did you by any chance also have a suspension fault and did doing the calibration clear this?

I don’t find I have to redo it. And no, I’ve never had an error telling me I need to calibrate, but then I’ve never flashed the suspension tbh. It’s likely related to the flash resetting the stored values
