Another bluetooth question - N97 and D3 |
|
SWMBO's is an 05 D3 SE with Harmon Kardon Audio. Until recently she had a Samsung phone which would connect using bluetooth, but only using 0000 as the key, not 2121. My Nokia E71 was exactly the same. In both cases, we had to re-enter the key each time we started the car.
Now her new N97 won't connect via Bluetooth. The phone finds the car, which appears as "Land Rover Aud" (missing the last two letters) and prompts for a code - 0000 is the only code accepted, but then when prompted the phone says it cannot create a bluetooth connection.
Having searched here, it would appear we need (at least) a software update for the car - but when she phoned the LR dealer they were baffled and said it should work anyway, but couldn't offer any help as to why it wasn't.....
What can we quote to help point them in the right direction - or anyone have any other solutions?

Was it something I said? Or didn't say? I was hoping someone might be able to offer what the magic words to say to the dealer might be so they understand we want/need a software update (assuming that's right)?

look at the bluetooth connections on the phone and make sure it is set to 'authorised' in the pairing section.
I would say its the phone not the car.
let me know if this helps
Mart Still miss my D3

Very strange as 0000 is the passcode for the aftermarket LR bluetooth kit .
2121 Is the code for the factory fit kit . You cannot update the aftermarket kit ..and if the bluetooth module has packed up , you cant get them any more as they have stopped making them . G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Thanks for replies - so it appears we have the LR aftermarket bluetooth (thanks - I maaybe should have realised that) - that explains the code issue. So I'm guessing the logical route now is Parrot or similar?
