Noticed another post on a similar subject.. If you ever find yourself near the Tyne Tunnel (Y I mon..) (which is not the bottleneck it used to be due to a new second tunnel), Barbour have a FACTORY SHOP very close to the southern end. Over the years we've been many times and most of our coats, knitwear, shirts and shoes are by Barbour. There's a normal Barbour shop at the front with full price suff but go through the shop and there's a small warehouse full oif slight serconds and samples. It's often impossible to see anything wrong with the seconds.. They sell many waterproof jackets, and no, not just the waxed stuff but smart ones...
At the southern end, go east on the traffic island along the A185. After about 1/3rd mile you'll see an empty old, white pub on the right, turn next right into the industrial estate. Turn left at the end, then right in about 200yards. In front of you should be a narrow railway bridge. The factory shop is before the factory shop on the right in 100 yds. They don't do mail order.. I once looked for it online but it wasn't mentioned on the Barbour website.. You just gotta go.. Make the most of this life, you may not have a Landy or skis in the next one.
