I thought FL2 was based on some Ford platform....?
FL2 was based on a Ford floorpan - used across a number of Ford and Volvo cars.
FL1 had very distant roots in Maestro territory in the original CB40 concepts, but you'd be hard pushed to see that history in the production vehicles.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The early MGF uses a modified Metro suspension subframe.
