Amber warning lights for brake pads |
|
MOrning all. WIfe has just texted to say that "2 amber warning lights suddenly appeared. Saying brake pads worn".
I'm just wondering: has anyone else had issues with warning lights just because sensors get filthy? the car is in a real state thanks to recent weather and rural living.
I do wonder sometimes if we are constantly alerted to things which in the old days we'd have just lived in blissful ignorance of until the next service.....

The brake pad warning wires work by keeping a circuit closed, as the pad wears down the wire is worn through opening the circuit and illuminating the dash warning lamp. I suspect you are about to need a set of brake pads. Paul Redding

Or you may find the sensor has popped out.....have look and check the pads also just in case. Had my light come up not long after I had front pads changed. Sensor just came out.
