Alternator goosed....
Hi all,
I've just got home from a short drive. Battery warning light came on about a mile ago, alternator now smoking.
In addition to parking her up til parts arrive, are there any precautions I should be taking, disconnecting the battery, etc?
Thanjs!

As Narpy says disconnect now, other than that wait til the daylight. You can pull the emergency release for the EPB in the morning.yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Can you not put your foot on the brake pedal and move the lever.

Pull the console off and there is a white lever/button near the gear lever which when activated allows the gearbox to be moved out of park - assuming there is no load on the Park position pawl in the flywheel.

I've just found the cheat which shows a button ypu can access via removal of the cover beside the EPB switch. I'll try that before the above

I can get an aftermarket alternator in Inverness for not too much money. It's Bosch though. Any thoughts? Has anyone else fitted one?
Thanks.

Bosch is a good brand, many have used them providing they get the spec right. Yes Denso is used on original LR
