Alternative MAF Sensor cleaner
Hello D3 & D4 Collective.
Is there an alternative to MAF Sensor cleaner? Ive seen EGR cleaner, Air Intake cleaner, but do they work? And where is it any alternative available from (less the bay)?

I just bought the right stuff and never had an issue - my view is that its too expensive to use the wrong material and have it fail in the middle of nowhere.
Carb/intake cleaner doesnt fully evaporate so can leave a residue also MAF sensor cleaner must only be used when the MAF is off the car and disconnected and must be allowed to dry fully before refitting
Also dont forget that EGR cleaner is designed to effect the deposits in an entirely different way at different temperatures as it has to cope with very hot exhaust gasses so i would not try that on the MAF or MAP sensors.Must stop buying shiny toys....

I’ve used electrical contact cleaner before, evaporates really quickly as you’d hope for liquid intended for staying onto electric contacts and it clears the gunk out2008 HSE Stornoway Grey
