aircon re-gas : glasgow
Last 2 days in Glasgow have been (relatively) scorchio. 8) Which has highlighted that the aircon is too. Switching between "econ" and normal makes little (if any) difference.
Fingers crossed this is a re-gas only issue.
So anyone know anyone in the Glasgow area? Preferably mobile that can come to my wife's work.
Thanks guys.

Sounds like low gas and probably stating the obvious but you could try,as last resort , the dealer in Maryhill road

I know - just trying to avoid stealership mark-up for something they'll probably sub-out anyway.

We used Taggarts for the RX8. Was always pretty impressed by them too. Might give them a call in the mornin.

Dare I say it, kwik fit are advertising regas at a not too horrendous price. I know wash my mouth out
And the other option would be Shields, I use them and for a service they are generally £50 cheaper than Taggarts and if you plan it, will gie you a courtesy car, although they are using mazdas at the moment, but it does get you around.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

I had hoped my recent problem was just a regas but it wasn't
Bloody HP pipe is leaking just behind the NS front wheel arch. Had to travel to Norwich and back this weekend with no aircon. Temperature got up to 29 deg C on the way home yesterday so it was long and very sweaty journey home
One small consolation though - managed to average almost 31 mpg for the 432 mile round trip Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

^^windows not work either?
Find a local air con man to do it, it's not really a job you can cock up and you shouldn't be paying more than £60 to have the old gas removed, vac'd down for an hour to leak test and then new gas put in 2014 D4 XS

Not too bad, price wise, considering they are about £70 an hour.
If its Taggarts, they managed to fix a EPB problem that a dealer in Edinburgh (near the Forth) failed to do

Mine was the same, only came to light with the recent spell of hot weather
Got it re-gassed and everything seems back to normal

Ade,
Your comment reminded me of an instruction in a car I had years ago ( it was a Ford ) that you had to run the AirCon for 30 mins a month to keep the compessor/gas and everthing else going.
Wonder if the same applies to the Disco ( Well it is/was a Ford )

Hi Trackman,
I recommend this procedure to people, no matter what vehicle, as the seals can dry out, causing leaks. I have my air-con on all the time and it is still working fine.
