Air-con pump test?

Hi all, I think I know the answer to this before I ask it, but here goes anyway....

Is there any way to test an air-con pump before fitting?
I have one that I removed from a D3 a while back. The system was deffo empty, but I have no idea if the pump works. Mine seized, so I know that’s goosed.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Eddie

From experience after recently fitting a new AC compressor I would go through all that work to fit an item I didn’t even know was ok or not, my advice buy a new compressor then you know you’ll be ok

Probably a good call, but trying to keep it in budget. I will have the engine out so it would be a good time to ensure all ancillaries are good.

Away to steel myself and look at new pumps. 😬😬😬😬

I suppose since the body etc will be off for engine swap, things can be rebuilt to the bare min to test the pump kicks in.
