Air suspension inlet filter |
|
Evening Guys
I have been having a little trouble with the air suspension, mainly sort with a new AMK pump, however I have one question in regards to the air inlet filter located in the rear left corner of the vehicle.
Since I was checking most things out I decide to check the inlet filter, and the open cored foam filter appears to be clean, however below this foam was a second filter, white and made from a more tightly packed material. This appears to be dirty with the top half of the filter appearing very dark.
Should there be two filters located in the housing?
Can the white filter be cleaned?, if so recommendations
Can you obtain a replacement? Part number please

hi, just came across a video about the air suspension intake filter in which they had a new assembly and just took the filter out of that to replace the old one which would be an expensive option. Doesn't seem to be just the filter listed anywhere but you can get one for the TD5 air suspension. Anyone know if it is the same? but I expect the D3 may need a larger intake.
Regards,
Gareth

Replacement filters: LR part no. STC970 |
|
I came across a tip recently. Apparently you can order replacement filters (sponge and felt pad) as a set without the housing and pipework.
The Land Rover part number is STC970 - this is a part for a Range Rover classic with air suspension but fits the housing for the Discovery 3. The Land Rover parts catalogue would have you believe you have to order the filters complete with new housing and pipe work too. (part no. RQB000418).
I've ordered STC970 and am awaiting delivery, so will know for sure in the coming days.
**UPDATE: Part STC970 arrived and I can confirm that it does indeed fit! It's a shame LR don't update their parts catalogue for the D3 to show it as being available separately, rather than giving the impression that you must purchase the entire RQB000418 assembly.
