Air suspension

Noticed in the last 2 weeks my air supsension on my D3 appears to discharge air and the truck ends up on the floor if I’ve not driven for a while, previously it remained at usual ride height. Once the the engine is running raises back to ride height, is the system leaking over time [ or is that normal ] where are the usual suspect places to check . Cheers Gary

I have had the same problem, its likely there is an air leak somewhere.

The air suspension computer wakes up on a regular basis and checks if the vehicle is level. If one corner or end is down a bit, it will release some air to level the vehicle. Over several hours/days it will end up in access height.

If you put it in off road height, pull fuse 26E to disable the air suspension computer and then leave it over night, you should be able to see if one end or corner has dropped. That will then make it a bit easier to diagnose.

It could be a valve block leaking air past the seals or a leaking air bag.

The other thing to try is spray everything suspension related with soapy water to look for air leaks.

I hope that helps

J

Re: Air suspension

Hi

Hope u didn’t mind but copied ur post in ur other thread to here, just thought then it might be better to have ur own thread and not get confused with others

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/post2297890.html#2297890

Ur question

Hello
can anyone tell me where the air supply pipe connected to the front block is connected at the compressor end. Looking to run a new pipe under the car to isolate slow air leak. changed front block, sprayed all accessible areas without joy. cheers

Hi

Here’s some pics below for u , may i ask please what are the issues ur having , ie, does the entire suspension drop overnight , what’s the history of the suspension issues , as then we can help further if we know what you’ve tried and what the issues are , plus collating all the information into one thread

Plus ur front valve block connects into ur reservoir valve Number 8 in the last picture

Hope u don’t mind me asking , but Have u got ur own code reader, has it been plugged in, if so , any fault codes plse

Plus if u haven’t already have u tried leaving it overnight with the engine fuse F26 removed, then seeing how much it’s dropped by in the morning

If ur unsure about something please don’t hesitate to ask as there’s many very knowledgeable members , once again hope that was ok posting ur question here

Hope that helps
