Air Intake Grille Removal

I am planning to install the LR raised air intake on my 2006 LR3.. Can anyone tell me how to remove the existing side air inlet grille? It appears to be held in place by plastic tabs molded into the assembly.

Will the retaining tabs release or will they brek off?

50/50

Unless you slightly pull / bend the metal around the vent - chances are they will break.

TBH, your drilling holes in the wing anyway and will need to pay to have these filled if decide to do back to a non RAI D3... the grill in cheap. Along with a new A-Pillar trim of course.

Don't worry about it.

Thanks for the info. Good point about conveting back to "stock".

If possible, I would like to save the grill if there is an easy way to do so. Looking at the vehicle, it appears that a lot of things would have to be removed to access the back side of the tabs. So PULL it will be!

Grab it in the middle and try and lift it slightly as you remove the bottom clips first

Slide a plastic spatula in underneath and use it to lever the vent upwards slightly whilst you pull - will come out a treat without breaking any tabs or marking the paintwork Thumbs Up
