Air con not working

I had my Land Rover discovery 3 HSE 2007 air con re gased last year it worked real well and was lovely and cooled then it was Parked up for two weeks and from then on it was not working. I had it re gased under warranty but went again but by then we were into winter so never bothered and was wondering what it could be the pipes all look good.

Have a look at

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/air-con-171906.html

I have the same issue mine lasts for about 6 weeks then starts to get warm again.

Next step is a dye test to identify where the leak is.

Had that done at kick fit and they used the blue diy and the air con was holding gas and passed but on the second time they told me don’t bring it back. But that was last year

Mine is an SE which does not have rear A/C.

I think the HSE with rear A/C has more pipe work to the rear which is a known corrosion issue.

Mine was blowing warm air and I had Kwik Fit recharge it last year - great blowing ice cold air like it used to but by the Autumn it was starting to blow warm air again but with winter coming I was not too bothered.
Not sure if they added dye.

I have checked it for leaks no sign of leaks just now but thats 9 months on from when it was recharged.

With this hot spell I could do with getting it working again but dont want to waste another £49.

I had a look under at the pipes but they run down both of the inner sills and under the boot but seem to be covered in pipe fome with makes it hard to see. I might have it re gased and go from there as it gets too hot in this whether and it dose not held by having full leather seats.

Hi

At least in an HSE you have a sun roof for ventilation but on an SE you don't!

Had the air con regased yesterday (4 July) all went well passed the pressure test and holder the gas but it had no gas or oil and got told it should have at least 60 grans of gas. Just got to see how long it lasts if there is a leek.

Did they put dye in it so if there is a leak you can find it?

No not this time but last year when it was done twice they did but could not find any leaks. May be it is a rear pipe with been a hse?

Quite common also is the joint between the pressure switch if it works for a while then stops as that was what mine was it leaks very slowly my air-con guy looked there first on my renault but on both my disco and sport it was the condenser another common item Thumbs Up

Air con North Oxfordshire

Hi,

I’m having the same air con issues as most, I have the rear air con and I suspect a leak. It’s been regarded twice and was great for a week or so. The 2 places that redassed it both couldn’t find a leak.

Can anyone recommend an air con specialist near me.

I’ve had it with the likes of Halfords and the tyre people that claim to know what they are doing.

Well it only lasted 4 weeks till it stopped working then I had a noise air compressor and noticed this. Could it be the o ring or the air con pipe?

where is that? by battery or front ?

As its a slow leak, could well be O ring
