air bag warning
hi
happy new year to you all first of all
dont know if this is in the right section but
went out in d3 this morn with no probs, stopped, turned off and got out of car.when i came back and started back up the airbag light stayed on.i took key back out, locked and unlocked car again and started back up.the airbag light stays on still.about a second after starting it flashes just once then stays on constant.
why?what could be causing this?could it be the cold ?will it just be glitch and will self clear or is it a trip to the stealers tomorrow morn.
the car still drives ok.
please help if you can people
cheers

Like the old TD5, te seat was moved and dislodged the multipug under the seat, maybe worth a look, only at a guess mind
You may find it's a problem with the "Rotary Coupling" in the steering wheel, quite common, several of us have had it replaced a few times and them at my last service it was again replaced with a "modified" version as part of a recall, so just check with you stealers if that applies to your car.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I second the seat issue, although we don't have the problem as much as before the Rotary Coupler was replaced last, occassionally it can reappear but normally that is after SWMBO's changed the seat to her 5ft and a fag-paper height settings and then I change it back for my 6ft3 height settings. A swift wiggle of the multi-plug to check it's firmly connected usually resolves it LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Sorry to hear about your woes Mac - hope it gets sorted soon.
Dunc, I think it affected MY2005 to 2007/8 so quite common, only got the revised coupler fitting last August, so I'd say any model up until then could have a problem with the rotary couplerLRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

hi
just been out and checked all the multi plugs[just incase]all ok
mine's a 56 reg[nov06] so sounds like it maybe the rotary issue.phoned lra and they said they cant come out to look at it as the prob is a dealer issue and the light is only a warning to say airbag may NOT deploy in the event of an accident.oh well, will see what happens in morning and if still there its a trip to williams for me thanks

I have a similar problem where the airbag warning light comes on while I'm driving. If I turn off the engine and start up again it's gone. This has happened 3 times in the past month. I'll check the wiring under the passenger seat and if it isn't that then it may be the rotary coupler on the steering wheel. Any other ideas?

Crash sensor in drivers front door, or, broken wire to said sensor. Seen that fault a lot of D3's My D3 Build Thread
