Advice on Remapping

Hi guys and girls,

What’s your opinions on remapping?

I have a 2006 ‘56’ D3. It’s done 157,000 miles and I love it obviously.

I’ve heard about remapping but haven’t got a clue what it is....any advice would be great.

Pros and cons

Is it good for the car if so why don’t they do it when you buy them?

Is it bad for the car if so, is this why they don’t do it when you buy them?

What can I gain?

Will or can it go wrong?

Cheers peeples!!

You need to decide what you want from a remap?

Better performance, better mpg?

Frankly on a car of your age I'd be looking at essential & preventative maintenance before remapping.

Has the oil pump been updated?

If you decide to remap you can't do better than forum sponsors Bell Auto Services:-

have a look here:-

and here:-

Don't forget that any remap must be reported to insurers & will probably result in an increased premium.

Also be aware than any increase in power will stress already elderly components.

Good luck.
