Advice needed butterfly valve removal (as part of EGR blank)

Have fitted the BAS kit but had an issue with the butterfly valve

I could not pull the spindle out and ended up breaking the plastic end where the actuator arm attaches

in the end I had to break the plastic butterfly valve off the spindle

on refitting there is nothing to keep the spindle tight to the actuator control valve but I'm pretty sure the spindle cannot move enough to fall out of its mountings

My risks seem to be :-
1. spindle can come out - this seems potentially very nasty
2. small amounts of air may be inducted into the Y box

She's all started and running beter than ever (probably in my mind Laughing )

do I replace the Y box or not ?
