Zebadee had same problem on his RRS,295 would not fit Landrover Rim but will fit third party rim due to greater off set.

Choose carefully on tyres as they are expensive,my advice is to not go beyond 275.

If your going to Run 22'' on your D3 (I would love to 8) but just no practicle.)
the only wheels IMO are Overfinch Tigers
http://www.overfinch.com/www/vehicles/disc..._22_silver

My D3 is my work vehicle and is used every day, I find the 20" Stormers on 275's the perfect balance
between "Bling" (if you want to call it that) and functionality

Ps: welcome to the site. Thumbs Up

On a vehicle such as the D3, you NEED to see some tyre profile.
The 22's certainly limit that!

Admittedly on a RRS, but to the best of my knowledge the RRS & D3 share exactly the same suspension setup.

This is the clearance (or total lack of) that I had with 295/45 20 Pirelli’s fitted on LR Stormers....

..........& the this is the clearance with 275/40 20 Contis, on the same rim.....

The difference is quite startling Shocked

So as marcon advises, be very careful with tyre/rim choice & research carefully Thumbs Up

wow, that is close!
ain't nowhere near that with my 295's.
I'd say it's mainly down to the offset of the wheels.

Thanks again to everyone....

I can see that tyre choice is paramount here. I thought i was totally sold on get the Supercharged/V-spokes (probably copies so i can go with the bigger tyre etc) - but i got a PM from member IND TDV6 who has 22" Overfinch Supersports on his D3 and im my opinion they look fantastic. I can see why some people would think they are too big and too bling etc but i do think these wheels look fantastic. But im sure these wheels will be around £2,500 to £3,000 and thats more than i want to spend to be honest so i think i will be going with either the Superchargers or the Stormers. Thanks again for your info.

Steve, whilst tyre chioce is important, wheel offset is much more important, as 295/45's seem OK on Stormer copies but not on genuine LR Stormers (or Vspokes).

Thanks RonP - you've been a great help - i will try and call Devon during week - but do you know if he or anyone else does REPLICA/COPY V-Spoke/Supercharger alloys?? As the standard ones wont have the bigger offset needed for the wider tyres i need to source copies but all i can find is Stormer copies.

Steve

I've only ever come across one copy Vspoke, and it had the same offset as standard LR. There seem to be quite a few Stormer copies around, so again, you need to pick carefully

RonP - do you know what offset yours are? And, are they 20x9, or 20x9.5 rims?
