Advice on epb shoe adjustment

Hi all, so after a seized rear caliper a month or so ago I replaced the discs, pads, and that caliper using bodsys bible, but got quite confused with the bit about adjusting the epb shoes.

Eventually I thought that it was ok and did the bedding in thing, but a few weeks later got a warning light and one rear epb seemed to be sticking, it turned out to be the automatic release. Manually I could put it on and off, now though the other side is sticking.

My first assumption is that I didn’t adjust it properly. If I’m honest I found the instructions confusing and ended up adjusting the barrel on both sides in both directions and relying on “feel” to figure it out.

So in simple terms which direction do you rotate to loosen/tighten? Thanks

you basically get it to the stage when the brake is engaged and then back the adjuster off 8? clicks.

the direction you go is different on each side.

Pete, I read that in the bible, the trouble is that without knowing the direction that information doesn’t actually help:-)

I will try and have a look at my paper tomorrow. Remind me.

It would have been easy at the time, but appreciate with it all back together you don't want to turn it the wrong way.

It can only be turned one way to stop the disc turning Shocked if you turn it the wrong way (back off) it will not stop the disc turning, when resistance is felt it is time to put the torque wrench on, once the torque has been set it can only be adjusted one way without excessive force, 8 clicks backing off Thumbs Up simples.
