Additonal warranties are they worth the money
Does anyone have any thoughts about the warraties that are available when the Land rover warranty runs out?
Land rover want £900 per year Tesco's £500. Reading some comments about car warranties some don't seem to worth the paper the are written on. does any member have good or bad experience with any companies or am I better not paying for any warrranty and putting the money towards any future repairs.
Regards
Doug

Just took two years AA Prestige Cover with added Roadside Assistance out for two years for £695. My car is coming up to three years old with 32k on the clock. Wear and tear is now included in the warranty.
Could be toilet paper but will only find out if I need to claim (hopefully not). Helps me sleep at night though Now driving BMW 330d Touring....misses D3...but not when at traffic lights

Went through the same dilemma about 12 months ago and decided not to play the extended warranty/insurance game.
Car is now 4 years old and I'm pleased to say I have saved myself the 1st years extended warranty premium(year 4), if something fails in the next year(year 5) then 2 years worth of extended warranty payments should help towards the costs of most likely failures - pumps etc.
I've owned it from new and therefore know our cars full history - it hasn't been abused and am comfortable with its idiosycrasies.
I still thinks it's a great car 4 years on.Some say the glass is half full. Others that it is half empty. I say 'Are you drinking that?"

I bet the feeling is not mutual I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Tesco pulled out of car warranties on 1st Nov so will have to make decision on who to take warranty with or self insure.

Tesco pulled the warranty two days before I was going to take it out I shop at Sainsburys now to get them back Now driving BMW 330d Touring....misses D3...but not when at traffic lights
Last year I took out the £800-£900 Land Rover warranty and didn't have a single problem with the D3... I went with Tesco in June and have almost recouped the cost of the warranty. As you slide down the banister of life

I also took out the LR Extended warranty last year, had to use it for one item, (£350-400 ish I think), and have to decide shortly whether to continue with it for another year. ( Turbo, Transfer box, diffs, susp compressor etc are still original. ).
