I've had Main Beam Assist on all the D4's I've had and most of my driving is rural roads and I've never had a problem with it. Thumbs Up

Oddly enough tonight we were coming back down French roads at night and I had main beam assist on.

Aside from mistaking the odd highly reflective sign as a car and dipping the lights it worked really well.

This was at 50mph so not sure if it handles faster speeds.

Thumbs Up It is acknowledged in the operation info that reflective signs will be seen as a light source Smile

I drove my new D4 at night for the first time last night and can't say I noticed any movement when I was cornering, even full lock in Terminal 4's short stay didn't seem to make them move but its hard to tell I guess? I did find an annoying side facing light ping on at the slightest turn of the wheel when driving fairly straight roads, it them dimmed out again once the wheel is straight.

Full beam assist worked very well, seems accurate and responsive.

I have a Discovery 4 Luxury MY13 and I just took at look at the order form and I ordered "Vision Assist Pack". When I turn a corner the cornering lights come on, my problem is that I cant see the Xenon adaptive headlamps move when I turn the steering wheel.

I am not sure if I have to switch something on.

How can I test if they are working, I have parked against my garage door with full beam on turned the steering wheel in both direction but cant see headlight beam move.

Can any of you help me what I am doing wrong or do I need to take this up with the dealership?

I can see mine move on MY15, they move more than they did on the MY12 I had but neither D4 seem to move as much as D3's. On start up in the dark they can been seen doing a momentary dance, might be worth checking if yours do that to confirm they work.

What does the label say on the headlights, from memory mine says Adaptive well it did on MY12 cannot remeber for sure on this one, will check after work. Do you get the warning light come up on the dash when you start the car, the one that should iluminate if there is a fault with the adaptive lighting?

If I look carefully at the Xenon light pattern perimeter going lock to lock I can see movement there.

If you can't see any of that then I'd say you don't have them.

@Russell - no didn't see any setting to change LH or RH.... in fact in the manual it tells you you don't have to do anything to the lights for continental driving.

dubbs you are correct but for the High Beam Assist you do, there is a setting in the info screen to change between left and right hand drive under the high beam asist Thumbs Up

I have 2010 D4 HSE without Adaptive - does anyone know the upgrade path? Is it simply to exchange the headlights for the adaptive versions and have someone re-code it?

Many thanks for the help Smile

My car has today been booked in for next Wednesday to be looked at to see why my adaptive lights are not working.

I will report back next week

My car came back from the dealer today and yes my adaptive lights were defective and they had to replace mechanism on both lamps and also update the software.

Tested them on the way home this evening and what a difference

Hmmm - interesting - I'm still not convinced mine are working - so - if an when it goes in for the temperature gauge nonsense .... I shall get them to check these allegedly adaptive xenons as well.... thanks for that!
