Adaptive Bi Xenon

Got a 58 plate Disco 3 with the adaptive Bi Xenons.

Problem is (after reading another thread), the shutter on the drivers side light is failing to return to dipped beam due to the 'shutter' getting stuck. A sharp thump or a slow bumb off a kerb will return it to dipped but this is far from an ideal solution.

Means I have to drive at night on dipped beam the whole time to avoid dazzing oncoming traffic.

Been on to dealer who tell me LR are out of stock of the replacement unit.

This is very frustrating and potentially dangerous. Any other 'sufferers'? Be interested to hear your dealer feedback?

When I had the problem I figured it was because I hadn't used the main beam very often. I spent 20 minutes making it stick and thumping it clear until it stopped happening ....and hasn't come back for over 3 months Thumbs Up

Try removing the headlamp, pulling the bulb out and seeing if you can apply some sort of lubricant (high temp) to the shutter mechanism - best to use a long artists brush so as to avoid any getting near the bulbs/lens..........

Or knock the crap out of it a few times like DG did....

I would definitely try his method first Thumbs Up

I had that problem too, probably because lack off use so now I tend to use high beam more and I switch them on and off a few times every week and didn't have a problem for a year now. (I think)
