One for Wiggs really - have you found if you can activate these using the blackbox stuff so you can get at them without using the diagnostics screen?
Thanks

Echo Wiggs really
You can actually enable them, but it seems that some hardware needs to be present on the bus to tell the screen unit to switch to them.
It's almost certainly something simple, but its difficult and time consuming to test stuff. But we are very much jointly on the case
I am hoping that it might be a case where like Nav on the move, you have to do something software wise with the screen unit (ie update its flash operating system) before it starts to automatically switch to these inputs.
And we are planning to add that capability to the growing list of features and possibilities provided by our system to its owners within a few days.
At worst, i have noted that it should be possible to diagnostically command the screen unit to switch to the various video inputs, which we could solve for regular owners by knocking up a small embedded unit, but for now its a work in Progress. When we make some we will be sure to post the info right here on Disco3.co.uk, so please stay tuned
I'll be waiting TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)

I'd lay good odds that the hardware is already there in the form of the SatNav computer, and what's missing is the optional (read non-existent) software 'module' in the DVDs loading.kwi file that does the work of reading the config file setting and actioning the screen input swap on reverse gear selection

Yea i did that the other day only to find the body of my plug would not go inside the plastic outer
Had to take it off and reduce its outer diameter slightly, with a file and a cordless drill.
I'd assumed that if the diagnostic screen shows the video then it should be possible to enable it via a software switch. Are LR dealers able to install reversing cameras using the sat nav screen?
Sadly not. That would be considered an upgrade, and LR won't release codes to the dealers to enable that sort of thing I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
But D3s don't have reversing cameras as standard in any spec (do they?) so its not an upgrade is it?Volvo XC60 - does all that the D4 should have done

Audi TT Roadster (wow)
MGB Roadster (owned since 1992)
Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE MY08
Saab 9-5 Aero 2002 (gone but not forgotten)
You're adding functionality that wasn't there at the factory so in loose terms it's an upgrade. Put simply, LR won't release codes to make ANY changes to vehicle spec.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
Welcome to the forum by the way I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

In either the D3 or RRS
Is there any origional option, be it factory or dealer that uses these inputs that anyone is aware of.
If so, they would need to have it switching over in that circumstance and that might be all the clue i need

Isn't the TV an option on D3 >MY07ish or TV and Reverse Cam on RRS I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.
