How to activate rear widows on a d4 commercial |
|
Hi Im a newbie from the north east and have just got a new d4 commercial, I carry dogs and need to activate the rear windows before summer. Can anyone offer any help on this matter before I start digging behind the panels?( Not interested in doing a seat conversion just want the windows to work). Any advice would be much appreciated!

HI there you will have to take the plastic formed panels off for starters.
Take the door cards off, have a look at the wiring for the motors its normally cut so you need a new door loom or conector, well my mates was when i did his.
Unclue the silicon in the motor terminal conector
Cut around the edge of the window frame glass to door frame siliconed in.
Thats it should work when you press switch

On a D4, you will need new window motors
The motors will work, and go up and down, but only by a few inches at a time. You may also need new door wiring looms, or modify the wiring loom, depending an which MY you have...
Something to do with Hall Effect sensors in the D4 window motors. The motors are only there to put the window up at the factory My D3 Build Thread
