(Ab) Normal Behavior??

My D3 is going in later this week for another attack on the EPB - nothing new there you might think.

This time round its faulting every time, but with no creep/stick/scream, just the message and yellow warning light - this I could live with, but the loss of the reversing lights is a real problem. Since the EPB first faulted in this session the revesing light give a brief flicker when I start/stop the engine (!), but do nothing else useful. Also the gear select display (manual) is very reluctant to show what gear I'm in.

Are these faults related to the EPB fault Question - or is there something more mysterious going on Mr. Green Question

I think the current fault is "electronics related" rather than "mechanical" as I've not done anything muddyto clog things up since before the previous fix.

Hi ,

There is a quick ( not permanent) fix for this but I had the exact symptoms as you have and after 5 trips to the dealer it was finally rectified by changing the transfer case module.Warranty item.

Quick Fix.

Find a long quiet stretch of road.Engage low gears.

Reverse until you see the R symbol flash on the display.

Then stop and engage first.Move forward in first gear until you see " 1 " appear on the display.

When 1 is displayed change up to 2 nd and so on and so on up through the gears until you got 6th showing.

( Note : The gears selected may only flash for a moment or two )

Stop the vehicle.Engage the EPB.Get out , lock up the car and wait for the redlight to disappear on the dash.

Then open the car again , engage hi ratio and move off.The problem should be resolved ( for how long is vehicle specific)

You cannot be serious!

Yor forgot the part when you get out and while you are waiting for the red light to go off where you have to run backwards around the D3 twice shouting "you de man" and slapping yourself on the Censored .
