A2DP - Anyone tried this? |
|
Hi, as I hate wires, I'm looking for a neat solution for my iPhone to play through the car. I am thinking of fitting the Landrover iPod connector kit. Trouble with this approach is that it keeps the iphone in the glove box, or I need to trail wires to where the phone is mounted (near the steering wheel).
So was thinking of a wireless approach using A2DP profile on the iPhone.
As the useless Landrover bluetooth stack does not support this profile, I was thinking of one of these devices (or something similar):
http://www.gadgetworld.co.uk/p/Mavizen_Blu...ceiver.htm
If I plug this into the ipod connector in the glove box, I should get:
i) Power from the ipod connector to power the wireless adapter
ii) The wireless adapter should pair with the iphone and therefore I can stream the music via the iPhones A2DP profile.
Am I talking nonsense? Has anyone tried this?
If anyone has any experience of this particular device, is there any way to disable the handsfree on the wireless dongle?
Thanks.

According to the spec, it has both the ipod connector as well as a 3.5mm jack.
