Not a great deal you can do with 800W.

Uses it for a rotary polisher and sanding tools and a drill, he restores boats and it comes in handy in remote locations

As I quite fancied one so I read some reviews and they are not good.

http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftoptitle-81...ators.html

There are several near identical models (different brand name on eBay)

800 Watts - that's only about 3.5 amps at 230Volts not enough for a kettle.

Also I doubt it will give 800 watts at 12V DC Volts (about 66 amps)

Similar models output on DC is very much reduced. They don't seem to give a 12V DC output in the advert.

The one I had, the DC output is quoted as "Max battery capacity 40Ah" and it was a Censored to start.

It was marketed under SIP Medusa but they all seem to similar.

Use with caution if running voltage sensitive equipment like laptops as the output AC voltage is not well regulated.

Was it a silent sip medusa? I was looking at one for the boat. Was keen to know how loud they are

The one I had was this

As for noise, would not say its much different from other small generators. On a boat I would say it would be noisy as you cannot get that far from it Laughing
