Well, interestingly, I swapped over the entire valve body, solenoids and mechatronic unit which was apparently from either an MY09 D3 or MY09 RRS with the 2.7 TDV6. The vehicle started up and has driven just fine since - no coding was required. I did reset the adaption values again because of the changed setup. I had actually ordered the GAP Diagnostic Fast Lane (ECU Flash) service for it which I'm now arranging to cancel as it's not been required and I've not followed through with a request post the purchase.
The other items changed was the bridge seal and four tube seals that sit above the valve body. The tube seals had gone hard and I doubt were sealing much any more.
Due to having doubts about this being the cause of the fault and the current oil in the transmission being less than 20kms old, I reused it. Now that I've confirmed it's all working I'll do another drain and refill in the near future - just waiting on more fluid to arrive.
Both the old and new valve body used a A052/B052 Separator Plate, but the colouring of the solenoids differed - my original had yellow, GREEN and single black, where the replacement is yellow, BLUE and a single black - no idea why but they're working!
For me I'm stoked with the outcome. Thanks all for the thoughts and comments along the way! Mine - MY09 L319 D3 HSE Lion 2.7 TDV6 and modified MY03 LT L318 Discovery 2a HSE Td5 15P
Hers - MY12 L319 D4 Lion 2.7L TDV6
Dads - MY12 L319 D4 Lion 2.7L TDV6
