65Plate D4 oil
I've had my 65 plate D4 since just before Xmas but because of everything happening this year have only just put @5K miles on it.
I'm going to do a quick Oil and filters change and have come up against the minefield that is D4 oil spec.
I understand that 5W30 C1 is the recommendation, but the local place I usually buy my Oil from is saying A5 spec is the same as C1 and is suggesting Magnatec 5W30 A5.
Castrol's own website is specifying Castrol Edge 5W30 C1. for a 2013-2016 D4
Which appears to only be available in 1L bottles at silly money.
Is there a definitive answer to this?
Thanks

Thanks guys.
Would be good to use my Halfords Trade card, but as you've found they don't appear to list the C1 spec Oil.
Looks like my normal local place doesn't have it either.

£36.40 for 10 litres! And think delivery was £6 last time I ordered. I change it and the filter every6 months regardless and it’s a doddle on the d4 so works out about £30 for an oil and filter change.

Just to update this.
I ended up ordering the Granville Oil, plus Oil and Air filters from Steve and the team at Advance factors.
Steve has really helped me out in the past, but is just to far away to drop in and collect stuff without making a special journey, and considering the cost of fuel on top of the parts.
But if I'm going to have it delivered I might as well have it delivered from them, especially at the price for this Oil.

Great stuff, I massively rate the guys at AF As always super helpful and always my first point of call for spares etc.
I’ve been using the Granville stuff and filters from AF for 2 years and never had any issues. I’m using the Mann filters at the mo for oil.
Cheers
