Help with the name of a replacement part
I had the windscreen on my 2016 D4 replaced the other month and as if my magic, the surrounding trim on both A pillars came off while away on holiday. I assume they didn’t use new clips or fit them correctly, and the windscreen company have agreed to fix the problem. The trims stayed attached at the bottom so I was able to rescue them.
When looking at the two bits of trim, where they tuck in under the bonnet, there is a rubber pad they sit on. These pads have crumbled and I think they need replacing. Does anyone know what the proper name for these rubber pads is and where to buy them? They are about 2-3” square and 1” thick. dont think you can get them on there own they come as part of the trims although i dont think there particularly importantplease excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou

The foam will be already fitted on the replacement trims, cant buy them on their own, very good at absorbing water. You can buy the foam pads under the bonnet separately, probably to stop wind noise. Might need to put some paint on the trim holes if they are chipped

Attached is a photo of the two foam pads I’m referring to, they are the two standalone items between the trims. There are foam pads attached to the trims but it is the denser foam / rubber pads that I need to replace. Do they come with the trims or do I need to get them separately?
As for painting any chips, any advice for the best product to use? Back in the 80s I used to use Hammerite (I think) which claimed to reverse the rusting process. Didn’t work for meMY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

They come with the trims.
As for the chips. if there's rust, some rust converter, follow the instructions, then zinc primer, finally paint, everyone has their own idea's on how to do it, just put enough on to cover it, too much & the trim clip will probably just damage the paint again, better if the paint gets plenty time to dry & harden.
