I agree that it is a dangerous path to tread..BUT the hunting fraternity have worked out a reasonably succesful strategy that sticks two fingers up to the anti's and legislation passed against them. We must find a way to do the same.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Agree Slimer - promise I won't smash up a Prius tonight!
VA U can smash up the Priusii (pl for Prius I think), my sister has one. Please leave the Toyota Aygos alone, just bought the Missus one as she is going back to Uni to get a third degree & doesn't think she will be able to park. Costs for Aygo will be offset by 61mpg + cheaper tyres, plus what is saved from bad parking damage. Even she can park it!

I cannot understand why Land Rover sit by and let all of these false 'facts' get air-time. Why don't they come forward and say that the vast majority of their cars are diesel and do 25 mpg+? Its only the RRS that lets them down....
Being fairly new to off-roading, is there an all-encompassing group/club that we should look to to support our cause (a Countryside Alliance type organisation)?Disco 5 HSE Lux

But then again no other 4x4 manufacturers are putting their heads above the parapet either. I think they are keeping stum while working on the efficiency issues... the advent of the diesel v8 will silence some of the critics in respect of consumption. Some say this will be the death of the big petrol engines , others say they'll be back in 10 years 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I think the CA only got going when there was a definite threat of a ban. I don't think we are at that stage yet and, at the moment, a majority of 4x4 owners are probably pretty complacent about the whole thing.
It would be great to put a fund together to get someone like that journo (sorry, forgotten his name!) to speak out for us when necessary. But then we do have the likes of Clarkson etc. implicitly on our side to do just that...

Did someone say they weren't very communicative?
I got a reply... though not much of one:

Tell him to come along to the next South East meet.....where we can 'enlighten' him on the errors of his thought processes.
While he's there , we can shove the rough end of a pineapple up his ar$e 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Why not invite Brendan O’Neill to pop along and write an article about the forum and the concerns we have as normal law abiding citizens ?
