4wd spots near northern beaches - sydney |
|
Hey guys
I recently bought a 2011 D4 and hoping someone can tell me where the nearest places to go test it out off-road would be?
I live on the northern beaches and keen to know about any good fun tracks which hopefully don't have too many branches scratching my sides, don't mind a challenge nothing too gnarly as its still my new toy..

Not many near Sydney.
Some on here go regularly. Or join AULRO to join them on a trip. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Buy a permit and go up to Nine Mile Beach between Blacksmiths (Swansea Heads) and Redhead up at Lake Macquarie or go just north of the Hunter to Stockton Beach. There is also a Recreation Area at Gwandalan.

North of Sydney approx 1.5hrs is Watagan State Forest - forest driving.
2hrs Nth is Stockton Beach - sand
West 2hrs is Zig Zag near Lithgow - forest driving. Or Jenolon, Sunny Corner State forests which is a little further.
South you need to go further.
But with any of these areas you are better off going with someone else!
Even better is joining a 4wd Club and doing driver training, it's normally cheaper than doing a specialized course plus as an advantage you can go on their club trips!
A couple that come to mind: R/R Club, All Wheel Drive Club of Sydney. 2014 SDV6 HSE White, LLAMS Height Controller, Tinted Glass, Tuff Ant Sliders and 18" steel wheels, Safari Snorkel, Rhino Rack Platform, ARB Air Compressor, Custom Drawer and storage unit -http://www.box.com/s/jem0ilac3cner2mexq64 UHF CB, 4x4 Intellegence RWC, 120ltr Long range tank, Rock Sliders and Compressor protection plate Beanie grill, De Tango.
