3rd Row of Seats Question

Hi,
Could anyone tell me if it is possible to fit the 3rd row of seats to a 5 seater Disco 3. I would like to fit seats 6+7 at some stage and wondered if it is possible? And on that note: how much should they cost if available?? Thanks. VCZ 3 Question

Unfortunately this is not possible. Technically you could fit them I guess but you need to have air suspension to allow for self levelling of the extra load when the seats are occupied - which would not be possible.

There was a discussion about that here[ without a clear conclusion. I suspect you'd find it far easier and probably cheaper to chop in your car for a 7 seater version.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
Looks like it is more hasstle than it is worth... better to trade for 7seater in future (If Mrs does get the other baby she wants)!! Embarassed
Then again... isn't there a firm in UK that make rear facing rear/3rd row seats for ie Volvo's/Range Rover S1/2 etc. 'they' might have an answer in the furure!?! Will have a look and post in future. Wink

I know one of the firms (http://www.luxury7.co.uk) that do 7 seat conversions for Range Rover, Mercedes, Volvo, Audi and almost all estate and 4x4 vehicles. In fact they are one of my neighbours.
As far as I'm aware, there are only three firms in the UK that specialise in these conversions. They are all dropping most of their conversions now as new EEC rules come in soon that mean the seats & seatbelts must pass new safety tests which are simply too expensive to put these products through. The result is that Luxury7 will now only fit orginal manufacturer equipment. Therefore, from now on they are only offering conversions on Mercedes and some Volvo estates.
Fitting the 3rd row seats in a D3 would be possible, as the seats and trim parts are available from LR and therefore are tested. But then this would also involve changing the 2nd row seats as access is gained from there, so the job gets expensive. This is similar to a Merc ML conversion and from memory this conversion costs more than £2K.
Therefore, it would probably be better just to change the vehicle to a 7 seater and then benefit from air suspension too.

Just so I have my facts correct.....the 7 seat conversion on a Merc ML costs £2,522 inc VAT & fitting.
