Hi people, got a couple of projects ongoing with the old girl. I've stripped out the 3rd row seats and everything that goes with them and will be rebuilding the back to make a comfortable living area.
I'm wondering about the airbags.
I'm going to be covering the rear side windows, so disconnecting the power to the window heating. I'd also like to disconnect the airbags attached at the back.
I've not removed the headliner yet, that's a job for this weekend. I'm wondering if anyone can advise on how to inform the car that I've removed the airbags so I don't get any warnings.
I am assuming I will get warnings, not yet disconnected the power and checked. But I'll be surprised if there's no warnings. Anyone done any of this before?

the airbag systems are a vital safety system and very dangerous to mess about with.
so best leave them alone and keep anything added to the vehicle clear of the airbag deployment areas
you will also probably invalidate your insurance by disconnecting the airbags or bypassing them D3 HSE 2.7 TDV6 named Calvin with him stuffed Tiger Hobbes sat in the back

They aren’t heating elements in the side.
They are radio reception so leave alone
Also leave airbags alone. It will just bring on the light
Can’t see any reason to disconnect

Mine does as well. It just a car with no rear seats i have removed the window cover panels and connected up the rear electric windows, land rover leave the plug to the motor disconnected and fill it with silicon to stop you doing it but silicon remover works wonders
